Elderton Eden Valley Chard

Delicate lime tart and nectarine, with savoury nuances. A depth of flavour we only see in great years, balanced with a fresh line of acidity. Additional layers of creamy texture from battonage and hints of toasty oak from barrel fermentation, further enhance the core of fruit, leading to a long finish.

The oak feels heavy-handed but the fruit is solid. Lime, grilled peach and sweet pear flavours with a musky vanillin overlay. It goes about things in its own sweet way, and is pretty decent in those terms, mostly thanks to the intensity of the fruit flavour itself. 90 Points Nick Stock, JamesSuckling.com Aug 2021
