Penley Timbrell Red Blend 750mL

Aroma: Anise, boysenberry and cassis. Palate: Medium bodied. Concentrated, long and generous. Tannin comes in gentle waves, carrying the fragrant fruit. An elegant red blend with a supple ble fruited footprint. Medium term cellaring suggested. A tasty drink right now.

Critics Rating: 2017 vintage - 91 POINTS, Date tasted 28th June 2019. Not sure what the varietal mix is here, but the blend has worked well, providing a degree of complexity and good balance. Blackcurrant, plum and mulberry are the noticeable fruit characters, with a touch of mint and some oak aromas in there as well. It's not exactly smooth as such on the palate, but the flavours flow evenly and finish strongly with a juicy tang. Drink by: 2027.
